Not me and not scary, but it happened to my father and it's difficult to explain. The thing that kept me up that night though was wondering just what the fuck was it running from? Still to this day I have no idea what it was. But there's nothing in the garden shed, and I shine my torch out across the grass plain outside the house but don't see shit. #Virtual city dweller crossw fullSo I get out of bed and see my two Jack Russells are cowering under the bed terrified, looking at me as though to say, "What the fuck was that?" I get the torch from the kitchen and go outside, and see that a bunch of shovels and rakes and pitchforks and things that I have leaning against the wall of the shed have been scattered about everywhere like something has hit them at full speed. After that there's another loud collision outside with the garden shed. So it thumps right the way through my house like it's in full sprint, and then crashes down the back steps as though it has fallen all the way down them. It was so loud I legitimately thought it might have been a person, but then as it scurries through the house I can hear the claws on the hardwood floors. And then there's something thundering up the front steps. One night after I've been in bed maybe 10 minutes, at around 2 in the morning I suppose, I hear something rattle the fence outside. House is the typical tall Queenslander kind of thing. At night here we tend to just leave all the doors to the house open and the fence around the house yard has been falling down for, I dunno, fifty years. Not really a campfire story but I live on a cattle station in rural QLD, like 10km to the nearest neighbour. ![]()
